'The Voice': Final 8 going on tour (sans coaches)

the-voice-final-8.jpg "The Voice" will take a page from the "American Idol" playbook and send its finalists on tour later this summer.

The NBC singing competition, which will crown its first winner on Wednesday (June 29), is planning a tour involving finalists Javier Colon, Frenchie Davis, Dia Frampton, Vicci Martinez, Beverly McClellan, Nakia, Xenia and Casey Weston, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Nothing's been officially announced yet, although that's likely to happen during either Tuesday's or Wednesday's show.

The show's celebrity coaches won't be joining their charges on the tour, keeping the focus on the contestants. Blake Shelton did, however, tout his two final team members, Frampton and Xenia, and the tour on Twitter Monday: "I feel like a proud papa with my two girls @DiaFramps and @X3NIA17 hitting the road this summer for The Voice Live On Tour. Show 'em love!"

Fellow coach Adam Levine also mentioned the tour in a tweet but later deleted it.

All four coachses -- Levine, Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green -- will perform together on a cover of the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" on Tuesday's show. Wednesday's live results show will feature Stevie Nicks, Train's Pat Monahan, Miranda Lambert and OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder performing duets with, respectively, finalists Colon, Martinez, Frampton and McClellan.
