'The Voice': Kelsey Rey's 'American Boy' - she's not just a pretty face

kelsey-rey-the-voice.jpgOn "The Voice," there are two kinds of contestants. Kind A are the people who maybe wouldn't get a look as a music star because they maybe aren't the prettiest flower on the rose bush. Then there are the kind B contestants - the ones who want to be liked for their vocal ability because they were beaten with the pretty stick.

Kelsey Rey falls into the latter category. She would not have any trouble getting through on, say, another vocal talent show where there are male judges that sometimes give a pass to really cute girls regardless of talent (and bonus that she can sing). But on "The Voice," the judges couldn't see her and three of them, Christina, Cee Lo and Adam, picked her anyway.

It was a hard decision, but she chose Cee Lo, which surprised us a bit. We thought she'd want to be on Xtina's team for sure. Below is a clip of her "American Boy" performance - we'll post a full video when we have it. What'd you think?
