'The Voice' Season 5 premiere: Matthew Schuler earns the fastest four-chair turn in show history

"The Voice" is back, baby, and its Season 5 premiere on Monday (Sept. 23) packed quite a wallop in terms of talent. Case in point? Matthew Schuler and his record-making blind audition.

The 20-year-old college student took the stage to perform Young the Giant's "Cough Syrup," and within the first few seconds of his a cappella opening, Schuler managed to clinch a button push from each and every coach -- something that happened with such speed in the show's history.

It was a fierce battle between Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to convince the talented bagel shop employee that they were the coach to take him to the top. In the end, Aguilera won him over, proving that the season away had sharpened her sales pitch. With Schuler on her team, the diva heads into Season 5 as a real threat to reigning champ coach Shelton.

Check out Schuler's audition above and let us know if you think he deserved all the praise.
