the-voice-season-6-battles-round-2-day-2.jpgThe Battles Round 2 continue on "The Voice" Tuesday (April 1), with only one steal left going into the final episode Battles next week.

Battle 1: Biff Gore vs. Sisaundra Lewis (Team Blake)
Song: "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown
Blake was correct when he said Biff and Sisaundra occupy the same lane of that soulful R&B singer. They're both very good, though I'm not crazy about all of their affectations while singing -- please, all singers, please stop acting out the lyrics. But I'm giving the edge to Sisaundra. The way she made those octave-climbing jumps on "ma-ah-ah-ah-an" at the very end, that was awesome. Biff is very good, but Sisaundra is incredible.
Winner: Blake chooses Sisaundra and no one steals Biff. The only coaches with steals left are Adam and Blake, so obviously only Adam could steal Biff.

Battle 2: Deja Hall vs. Ddendyl (Team Shakira)
Song: "Say Something" by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera
I greatly prefer Ddendyl's voice on this song, her funky tone sounds really pretty on this, while Deja is good, but kind of bland. They're both good singers, but Ddendyl seems more original and more seasoned, so that's who I would choose.
Winner: Shakira chooses Deja, though, and no one steals Ddendyl, which is too bad.

Clip: Battle 3 pits Emily B. vs. Kristen Merlin on "I Can Love You Better" (Team Shakira), with Kristen chosen to advance.

Battle 4: Stevie Jo vs. Morgan Wallen (Team Usher)
Song: "Story of My Life" by One Direction
Stevie Jo has a better grasp of the pitch, Morgan is flat on his solo lines. The chorus is just a touch too high for him, he's really reaching and not getting there, while Stevie just floats up to the high stuff. If Morgan sticks around, it'll be because of his interesting, gravelly rocker voice, because Stevie is doing much better than Morgan on this song. Morgan actually attempts a high note at the end that is ... yikes. I would keep Stevie, hands down.
Winner: The judges act like this is a close one, but I disagree. Luckily, Usher keeps Stevie Jo, then in a surprising move, Adam Levine steals Morgan Wallen. So there's only one steal left this round (Blake).

Tune in next week for the final battles, there are six left. Do you agree with who has made it through so far?
