"The Walking Dead" finally had a happy reunion in Season 4, episode 15 "Us." After five episodes of separation, Glenn and Maggie are back together and happy.
But that wasn't the biggest moment in the penultimate episode of Season 4. Instead, it was that the now-larger group -- Glenn, Maggie, Sasha, Bob, Eugene, Abraham and Rosita -- arrive at Terminus. It looks like a lovely place -- like Woodbury except less occupied -- except that sense of security rings untrue.
Only one woman meets the group when they enter the building, and they find her in front of a grill (which should set off alarm bells for fans who have read the comics and know what group Rick & Co. run into at this point in that story). Where is everyone else, and is she really as sweet as she seems? Or has the group run into a more dangerous group than the Governor and his men?
Honestly, considering this is "The Walking Dead," we're inclined to expect the latter. Happiness doesn't last long here, and a brief night of joy after the reunion of Glenn and Maggie seems about all we should expect. The current plan of that group is to scope out the situation at Terminus before Sasha and Bob (and likely Glenn and Maggie) head on the road to Washington with Abraham, Rosita and Eugene, but that seems to good to be true.
Meanwhile, Daryl once again finds himself torn between the man he thinks he is and the man he wants to be. Joe and that group brings Daryl back to the man he thinks he is -- the man who grew up with a drunk, absent father and an aggressive older brother. These men live by a code that thrives in the walker apocalypse: Claim your territory, don't lie and work for the group. By the end of the episode, Daryl is accepting that he can be one of them.
But viewers learn by the end of the episode that these men are hunting down Rick, Michonne and Carl, even if Daryl doesn't know that's where they're heading. If he's faced with the choice between defending his former allies or sticking with his new group, which will he choose? Hopefully the former, because these men are not good like we know Daryl is.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions as we head into the Season 4 finale. What is the deal with Terminus? Where is Beth? Are Tyreese and Carol close? Does Eugene really know the cure for the walker sickness? Considering how dark and dangerous the promo for next week's "A" is, it seems unlikely that there will be any sort of happy finale for "The Walking Dead" this year, so enjoy your joy while you can, Glenn and Maggie.
