'The Walking Dead' Season 4 poster: Rick stands alone in the Prison

"The Walking Dead" Season 4 poster doesn't make it seem like this season will bode well for Rick Grimes. Unlike previous seasons' key art that have focused on the group of survivors, the Season 4 image shows Rick standing alone in front of the Prison in front of a fence that has been torn asunder. It doesn't seem like the Prison will remain a safe haven for the group of survivors much longer -- not that it was especially safe in Season 3 anyway.

The peace Rick and company found at the end of Season 3 won't last long in Season 4, as threats from both inside and outside the Prison walls are brewing. The survivors' struggle for survival is pushed to the limits even after the disappearance of the Governor. Considering David Morrissey is a full-time regular in Season 4, it doesn't seem likely that he'll be absent from the show for very long, if at all.

Season 4 will introduce some new characters, like Lawrence Gilliard Jr.'s Bob Stookey. It will also see some of the Woodbury survivors come to the forefront now that they've been incorporated into the Prison group. "The Walking Dead" returns to AMC with Season 4 on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m.
