"The Walking Dead" fans who don't live in the United States are in luck, because they won't need to wait long to see the Season 4 premiere. For the first time, international viewers will be able to watch the AMC series' premiere on Fox channels around the globe only 24 hours after it airs.

For previous seasons, fans outside of the US would have to wait a week for the new episodes to hit their shores. For the entirety of Season 4's run, the new episodes will air internationally with only a one-day delay. In some countries, like Poland for instance, the delay won't even be that long (Polish viewers will only need to wait 19 hours).

"We want to prevent the spoilers for sure, we also want to make sure [international viewers] get the best version of the show -- not some pirated version," Liz Dolan, Fox International Channel's chief marketing officer, tells TheWrap. "But we also want them to get it super fast."

"The Walking Dead" frequently ranks as one of the most pirated television series on the air, so it will be interesting to see if this experiment with airing the show internationally so soon after it airs in the US affects those numbers. "The Walking Dead" premieres on AMC on Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET.
