janetjackson_amas_large.jpgIt could be that "The X Factor" will soon add some rhythm nation to its judging panel. The Hollywood Reporter is saying pop superstar Janet Jackson is interested in joining the singing competition.

The show has been looking to fill two spots on the panel ever since they fired Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger in Jan. 2012. Rumors of Jackson's possible involvement gained steam following the release of a promo for her Monday (Feb. 20) appearance on Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show.

Cooper asks Jackson whether she has any interest in joining the show. To this she replies, "Oh my God. No, I'm not a judge on 'The X Factor.'"

Cooper, being the savvy journalist that he is, says, "You're not currently a judge on The X Factor."

Jackson responds, "No, I am not...But that's all I really think I should say."

Show EP Simon Cowell has been looking to add some A-list musical talent to the program to compete with the likes of Jennifer Lopez on "American Idol" and Christina Aguilera on "The Voice."

The Hollywood Reporter is also saying that Pink is on Cowell's wish list. A source tells the publication "she can take on Simon."

The show better start making some decisions soon as open-call auditions begin in Kansas City on March 14.
