x-factor-oct-23-schedule.jpgFOX has tweaked its schedule for Tuesday, Oct. 23, once more, expanding its prime-time footprint by a half hour to make room for both its comedy block and "The X Factor."

The changes all result from a prolonged rain delay during the network's coverage of the National League Championship on Wednesday (Oct. 17). The rain pushed a scheduled afternoon game between the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants well into primetime and resulted in a jumbled schedule that featured a rerun of "Ben and Kate," an hour-plus of "The X Factor" and about nine minutes of a "Mindy Project" repeat before the game resumed shortly before 10 p.m. ET.

Later that night, FOX announced it would air the full two-hour episode of "The X Factor" on Tuesday, pre-empting the usual comedy lineup. On Friday, though, the network changed course again, scheduling new episodes of three of its comedies and an hour version of "The X Factor" that will extend to 10:30 p.m. and reveal the Top 16 acts.

Here's the complete schedule for Tuesday:

8 p.m. "Raising Hope"
8:30 p.m. "Ben and Kate"
9 p.m. "New Girl"
9:30 p.m. "The X Factor"

"The Mindy Project" gets the week off and is scheduled to return Oct. 30.
