The first trailer for "Thor: The Dark World" has been released, following the reveal of a teaser poster and the first official photos from the set. The sequel, like "Iron Man 3," is set after the events of "Marvel's The Avengers."
This time, Thor ( Chris Hemsworth) takes the fight and Jane ( Natalie Portman) to Asgard, where he faces off against a villain named Malekith ( Christopher Eccleston) and the race of dark elves he controls. Thor also finds himself in the middle of a love triangle, between the woman he loves, Jane, and the one his parents believe he should be with, an Asgardian warrior goddess named Sif ( Jaimie Alexander).
When the situation gets dire, Thor is forced to seek help from the last person he should trust. In the closing moments of the trailer, Thor approaches his disgraced brother Loki ( Tom Hiddleston) to request assistance. "Thor: The Dark World," which also stars Anthony Hopkins, Kat Dennings and Zachary Levi, is due in theaters November 8.
