Tim Tebow traded to N.Y. Jets [UPDATE]

tim-tebow-bachelor-twitter.jpgThat didn't take long. Just a day after the Denver Broncos signed Peyton Manning, the football team traded Tim Tebow to the N.Y. Jets, thus ending an incredibly wild ride for the young quarterback.

The Broncos sent Tebow and a seventh-round pick to the Jets in exchange for a fourth- and sixth-round pick, the Denver Post is reporting. This is quite a slide considering he was a first-round draft choice just two years ago.

Tebowmania was probably the biggest story in the 2011 NFL season. He took a franchise that was floundering and led them to six straight wins as well as a dramatic playoff victory. But Tebow's style and accuracy never meshed with GM John Elway's demands.

With the Jets, Tebow will likely just be a back up QB Mark Sanchez and used in certain situations.

UPDATE: ESPN is reporting that there's a financial snag that may jeopardize Tebow's trade to the Jets. The issue centers around who will pay for the bonuses built into Tebow's existing contract. We'll update you as things change.
