Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have a release date for their next movie, "The Nest." While that's exciting news, it's going to face some pretty stiff competition in the form of "Star Wars: Episode VII," which hits theaters the same day.
The first "Star Wars" movie since Disney purchased the franchise is going to be a big deal, as any "Star Wars" movie tends to be. Does that mean all hope is lost for "The Next," though?
Of course, not. After all, the duo is one of the best comedy teams of all time. Don't believe that? Just ask them.
Besides, it's not like they don't have any nerd cred in the world. In fact, Fey is no stranger to the "Star Wars" universe, as is evidenced by this most excellent "30 Rock" moment.
Poehler may not dress up as Princess Leia on TV, but there's no doubt about her inner nerd.
At the end of the day, "Star Wars" may have a bigger uphill battle than "The Nest." The last three installments weren't exactly universally loved. Knowing that, fans have a new hope that "Episode VII" to be the biggest and best movie in the series.
Should you choose to see "The Nest" instead of, or even in addition to, "Star Wars," imagine how grateful Fey and Poehler would be?
Regardless of which movie you see that weekend, make sure you go to the theater in true Poehler/Fey style.
"The Nest" and "Star Wars: Episode VII" are both in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
