'Today Show's' Matt Lauer and Al Roker to have live prostate exams for men's health awareness

The male "Today" cast and crew are doing their part by participating in "no-shave November," as Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Willie Geist and Carson Daly (plus many crew members) will not be shaving all month long -- see their progress here.

But Lauer and Roker are taking things one step further. They announced Wednesday (Nov. 6) that on Thursday's show, they will have live prostate exams. It's reminiscent of back in March 2000 when then-"Today" anchor Katie Couric, who lost her husband to colon cancer in 1998, underwent her first colonoscopy and chronicled the whole experience on the morning show.

Hopefully Matt and Al will inspire men to get themselves checked out the way Katie did so many years ago.
