Tom Hanks accidentally curses while promoting 'Cloud Atlas' on 'Good Morning America'
Tom Hanks got himself into a little bit of trouble this morning when he accidentally cursed while promoting his movie "Cloud Atlas" on "Good Morning America."
TMZ has the family-friendly swear-less video version of the incident, which occurred when Hanks was trying to explain an accent he uses in "Cloud Atlas." "Mostly it's swear words," he says before trying to explain what he meant to host Elizabeth Vargas by speaking in that character's voice. It took about half a second before Hanks dropped the f-bomb, and the situation happened too quickly for it to be bleeped out.
"Man oh man, I'm sorry. I slipped into a brand of acting," he quickly apologizes. "I have never done that before. I want to apologize to the kids in America who are watching this right now, and let me say next time on the show there will be a seven-second delay."
He continues, "Never give me a handheld mic, that's all I can [say]. I blame the staff. I blame the staff. Man oh man."
At least we know Hanks' go-to nervous gesture: smoothing his mustache. We'll forgive you this time, Mr. Hanks, but only as long as "Cloud Atlas" is as good as we hope it will be.
