'Top Chef' All-Star Carla Hall: 'Models can probably eat you under the table'

Full disclosure: we love "Top Chef All Stars" contestant Carla Hall more than anyone should love someone they don't technically know.

Her humor, kind demeanor and general aptitude in the kitchen have made her one of our favorites in the franchise, and though we knew she had a previous life as a model, we never dreamed we would see the fruits of those labors.

Huzzah! The chef recently opened up about her modeling career with iVillage and even shared a small portfolio of her work. To say that we're impressed would be an understatement.

"It wasn't a dream of mine," Hall tells iVillage. "I fell into at Howard University, and then I hated my accounting job, so I went to Paris, as you do, and just had a telephone number and beat the pavement."

But did modeling get in the way of her love of food. "Contrary to what people believe," she says, "models can probably eat you under the table. I don't know what they do after they eat, but, for the most part, my friends were A-OK."

You can watch the full interview in the clip below, and you real should check out her portfolio.
