The final two chefs left standing were Nicholas Elmi, the 32-year-old from Philadelphia, and Nina Compton, the 34-year-old from Miami. All season long, they were fairly evenly matched, with both of them winning three challenges, though Nicholas was in the bottom five times to Nina's two.

After a close final meal, the judges seem very torn, with host Padma Lakshmi saying this is "the closest" finale she's every experienced. In the end, Nicholas was chosen as the winner of "Top Chef."

In his post-win interview, Elmi says, "This is a pretty great feeling right now. I don't even know what to say. Winning means a lot for my family, it's life-changing."

Nina says that she's proud to be a role model, showing that you can come from a small island and go on to the finals of "Top Chef."
