Finally, the people are getting what they want. When Disney releases their next non-Pixar animated film, "Planes," the cast will feature a reunion of stars from the 1986 film "Top Gun."
Iceman and Goose will fly again, as Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards portray fighter jets Bravo and Echo, according to the Huffington Post. "Planes" is based on the idea of "Cars," featuring talking airplanes that pilot themselves. The two are excited to work together again, with Kilmer explaining, "Anthony and I were such great rivals in 'Top Gun,' we always had so much fun on set."
"Planes" also stars the voices of Dane Cook, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Stacy Keach, John Cleese, Brad Garrett, Sinbad, Cedric the Entertainer, Teri Hatcher, and Gabriel Iglesias. It was originally scheduled to be go direct-to-video, but Disney liked pieces of the film enough to give it a theatrical release. "Planes" takes off in theaters August 9.
