We have to wait a little while to find out the fate of Eggs on "True Blood," but the actor who plays him has scored a new gig.
Mehcad Brooks has joined the cast of ABC's midseason drama "The Deep End." He'll be playing an associate at the high-end Los Angeles law firm where the show is set, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
What that means for his "True Blood" character, Benedict "Eggs" Talley, is unclear. Brooks has been a regular on the HBO series this season; the finale is scheduled to air Sept. 13.
Brooks, whose credits also include "Desperate Housewives" and "The Game," is the second addition to "The Deep End" in recent days. The show has also added Nicole Ari Parker ("Soul Food," "Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins") as a more senior lawyer and the wife of Billy Zane's character, the firm's managing partner.
Parker is replacing Sherri Saum, who played the role in the pilot.
- Elsewhere, NBC has recast one of the roles on its midseason comedy "100 Questions." Broadway actor Michael Benjamin Washington, who's guested on "30 Rock" and "Law & Order," will play the lead character's (Sophie Winkleman) dating-service counselor, the HR says; he takes over the role from Amir Talai.
