'True Blood' Carrie Preston attends co-stars' wedding, has baby drama on show
The actress and wife of "Lost" star Michael Emerson showed loyalty to her Merlotte's co-worker on Saturday (Aug. 21) by attending the wedding of "True Blood" on- and off-screen couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer.
The Malibu, Calif., nuptials were held in the evening. Very vampire friendly.
Preston is having her time in the sun, so to speak, on the Sunday (Aug. 22) episode of HBO's "True Blood." Throughout the season, her character Arlene been dealing with her relationship with Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe) and her pregnancy, the result her time with Rene (Michael Raymond-James), Season 1's baddie.
In an interview with Pop Wrap, she says that naturally she and Lowe have learned to work well together since their maenad-fueled orgy activities from the previous season..
"Obviously we got to know each other very well last season," she says, "because we were, in some cases, out in the 38 degree darkness with black contact lenses, scantily clad on top of each other. That will bond you really quickly."
But what, exactly, is this baby going to bring? And will it be any good considering its origins. Arlene's intolerance for "evil" is well known. In the Sunday's (Aug. 22) episode, she once again lashes out at Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), the vampire waitress at Merlotte's. Zap2it posted a clip for preview.
"Arlene is kind of superstitious person," explains Preston. "She's someone who takes things at face value and to be pregnant with an evil person's baby is not something she's comfortable with ."
She also decides to tell Terry that he's not the baby daddy.
"The good news is that Terry is such a sweet character, I hope the audience is pleased with what happens," she adds. "But it does go to a surprising place - very unexpected. Arlene starts walking down an avenue that I don't think the audience would expect her to."
