jessica-chastain-getty-true-detective.jpgAnthology shows have the enviable luxury of constantly changing up their casts and perhaps snagging A-list movie stars because the star may only have to commit to one season. Such is the case with "True Detective," the HBO series that starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as its lead detectives for Season 1 and now may have found its Season 2 star.

Nerdist reports that two-time Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain has been offered the lead for "True Detective's" second season. She has not officially signed on at this time.

There was online interest for two female detectives to helm Season 2 after the first season focused on two male officers, so perhaps the powers that be at the show and HBO listened to fans and have two females in mind. Or maybe it's a male-female pairing.

What do you think, "True Detective" fans? Is Chastain a good choice? Who would you pair alongside her?
