'True Detective' Season 2 to be set in a different state, teases Nic Pizzolatto

true-detective-season-2-california-hbo.jpgSome precious few more details about "True Detective" Season 2 have been released, care of series mastermind/writer Nic Pizzolatto.

"Right now, we're working with three leads. It takes place in California -- not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California -- and we're going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in Season 1," Pizzolatto tells public radio program "To The Best of Our Knowledge," via MTV News.

Though the rumors that Jessica Chastain was in talks to join the cast proved untrue, Pizzolatto did offer some more teases about the new protagonists in Season 2. "The characters are all new, but I'm deeply in love with each of them," he says. "We've got the entire series broken out with a couple of scripts, and we'll probably start casting in earnest in the coming months."

Previously, all Pizzolatto had shared about Season 2 was that it will be about "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system."

Since "True Detective" Season 1 premiered in January 2014, it's safe to presume a similar premiere date for Season 2 in 2015.
