"American Idol" ticked up slightly Wednesday with its Top 12 performances, improving a little in adults 18-49 (although dipping a small amount in total viewers). It was enough to give FOX a win across the board for the night.

ABC's "Modern Family" also improved its adults 18-49 rating over last week and was the night's top show in the demographic, while episode 2 of "Mixology" held onto nearly all of its premiere rating. "Criminal Minds" was also up for CBS. The news wasn't as good for The CW's "Arrow" and "The Tomorrow People," both of which dropped, or NBC's "Chicago PD," which tied its series low.

FOX scored 10.5 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/10 share in households in primetime, edging CBS' 10.1 million and 6.3/10. ABC (6 million, 3.8/6) came in third. NBC (5.6 million, 3.7/6) came in fourth, and The CW (1.8 million, 1.2/2) trailed.

FOX's 2.7 rating in the 18-49 demo was half a point better than the 2.2 for second-place CBS. ABC finished third with a 1.9, followed by NBC, 1.5, and The CW, 0.6.
