"American Idol" scored some ratings gains for FOX Wednesday, growing in both adults 18-49 and viewers compared to last week's show. The bump was enough to give FOX a victory for the night.

ABC's "Modern Family" was also up compared to its most recent original episode, scoring the evening's top 18-49 rating. "Mixology" also rose with an original lead-in. "Survivor" was down a bit for CBS but still led its hour. "The 100" improved slightly for The CW, while "Arrow" was even with last week.

FOX averaged 8.9 million viewers and a 5.4 rating/9 share in households for the night. CBS (7.6 million, 4.9/8) finished second despite airing reruns for two of its three hours. ABC (5.6 million, 3.6/6) came in third. NBC (4.1 million, 2.9/5) took fourth, pending updates for a local NBA telecast in one market. The CW (2.1 million, 1.4/2) trailed.

FOX's 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 was good enough to snag the top spot in the demographic. ABC finished second with a 1.7, followed by CBS at 1.5. NBC posted a 1.0 and The CW a 0.6.
