Wednesday's "American Idol" improved a little on its overall performance from the previous night (although not in adults 18-49) and led FOX to the top of the ratings again. It didn't really give a boost to "Human Target," however, which was in line with its premiere and a re-airing Tuesday.

FOX averaged 18.6 million viewers and a 10.3 rating/16 share for the night, easily beating CBS 11.85 million viewers and 7.4/12. ABC (6.05 million, 3.9/6) finished a fairly distant third. NBC (5.35 million, 3.6/6) came in fourth, and The CW (1.3 million, 0.8/1) was well back with another night of reruns.

FOX's 6.6 rating in adults 18-49 was off slightly (from 6.7) compared to Tuesday but still doubled the 3.3 for second-place CBS. ABC took third with a 2.3, followed by NBC, 1.4, and The CW, 0.5.
