TV ratings: 'America's Got Talent' dips and 'Masterchef' leads in 18-49 Tuesday
"America's Got Talent" was still the most-watched show on TV Tuesday night, but its ratings were down some from last week. The dip allowed FOX's "Masterchef," which was up over last week, to claim the top spot among adults 18-49 for the night.
ABC, CBS and NBC all covered the Republican National Convention at 10 p.m., with NBC drawing the biggest audience of the three.
NBC led the pack in total viewers, averaging 8.15 million and a 4.9 rating/8 share in households in primetime. CBS (6.2 million, 4.1/7) finished second, and FOX (5 million, 2.9/5) came in third. ABC had a pretty soft night with just 2.5 million viewers and a 1.8/3. The CW drew 650,000 people and a 0.4/1.
FOX's 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 edged NBC's 2.0 for the top spot in the demographic. CBS was a point behind second with a 1.0. ABC posted a 0.6 and The CW a 0.2.
