The premiere of "Bad Teacher" pulled in not-bad ratings for CBS Thursday night, improving on the recent performances of "The Crazy Ones" in the 9:30 p.m. timeslot. It was up significantly from the latter show's finale a week ago.

Another premiere, ABC's "Black Box," pulled in so-so numbers. The medical drama was well below "Scandal's" average, but it was better than most of the network's other new drama premieres this season.

"The Big Bang Theory" and "Grey's Anatomy" were each down, as was "American Idol" for FOX. The "Parks and Recreation" finale ticked up for NBC. "The Vampire Diaries" was up slightly in viewers and steady in adults 18-49 vs. last week.

CBS drew 9.95 million viewers and a 6.2 rating/10 share in households, leading the night by a comfortable margin over second-place ABC (5.7 million, 3.9/6). FOX (5.3 million, 3.2/5) came in third. NBC (2.5 million, 1.7/3) finished fourth, and The CW (1.6 million, 1.1/2) trailed.

CBS also led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.4 rating, almost a point better than second-place FOX's 1.5. ABC took third with a 1.4, followed by NBC, 1.0, and The CW, 0.6.
