A pretty ho-hum Thursday on the broadcast networks played out mostly according to form -- CBS led the way in viewers, and FOX topped the adults 18-49 demographic. "Charlie's Angels" and "Prime Suspect" continued to struggle (although the former was up slightly), and "The X Factor" came in a little below average. "The Vampire Diaries" posted gains over last week, however.

CBS scored 12.2 million viewers and a 7.6 rating/12 share in households for the night, beating out FOX (10.8 million, 6.4/10) for the top spot. ABC (7.45 million, 5.0/8) finished third. NBC averaged 4.5 million viewers and a 2.9/5 to take fourth, and The CW trailed with 2.3 million viewers and a 1.5/2.

FOX's 3.6 rating among adults 18-49 was the night's top mark, half a point better than CBS' 3.1. ABC came in third with a 2.4, followed by NBC, 1.9, and The CW, 1.1.
