Per usual, "The Big Bang Theory" and "Scandal" were among Thursday's top shows in the ratings. But while "Big Bang" was up a little bit over its performance last week, "Scandal" took a hit in its second episode back from hiatus.

The strong performance from "Big Bang" helped "The Millers" and "Two and a Half Men" as well, with the latter scoring its best numbers since its season premiere. At ABC, "Grey's Anatomy" joined "Scandal" in dipping week to week. "Parks and Recreation" and "Parenthood" each rose slightly for NBC, as did "The Vampire Diaries" on The CW. "American Idol" dropped slightly for FOX.

CBS averaged 10.7 million viewers and a 6.6 rating/11 share in households for the night. FOX (6.64 million, 4.2/7) narrowly beat ABC (6.58 million, 4.6/8) for second. NBC came in fourth with 3.3 million viewers and a 2.1/3, and The CW (2 million, 1.3/2) trailed.

CBS also led the 18-49 demographic with a 2.7 rating. ABC took second with a 2.1. FOX's 1.5 was good for third. ABC posted a 1.1 and The CW a 0.8.
