TV ratings: 'Big Brother' double elimination leads CBS to Thursday win
A double elimination on "Big Brother" helped carry CBS to a good-sized victory Thursday night.
CBS averaged 7.2 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/8 share in households for the night, although its numbers -- along with those of ABC and NBC -- are inflated a little because of NFL pre-season games airing in some markets. ABC (5.7 million, 3.4/6) came in second, beating FOX's 4.25 million viewers and 2.7/5. NBC (2.9 million, 2.0/3) finished fourth, and The CW trailed with just over 1 million viewers and a 0.6/1.
CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 2.2 rating. ABC snagged the No. 2 spot in the demographic with a 1.5. FOX's 1.1 was good enough for third, followed by NBC, 0.9, and The CW, 0.4.
