TV ratings: 'Big Brother,' 'SYTYCD' finale score on Thursday

The season finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" scored the show's best ratings of the summer Thursday, but "Big Brother" and "The Mentalist" were up as well, keeping CBS in the overall lead.

CBS averaged 7.9 million viewers and a 5.0 rating/9 share among households for the night, beating out FOX's 7.2 million and 4.3/8. ABC (5.7 million, 3.5/6) came in third. NBC (3.2 million, 2.2/4) finished fourth, while The CW came in at 1.4 million viewers and a 0.9/2. (Note: Some local markets aired NFL preseason games, which will be subtracted from the final numbers.)

FOX and "SYTYCD" did lead the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.4 rating. CBS took second with a 2.0. ABC, 1.5, came in third, followed by NBC, 1.2, and The CW, 0.6
