CBS may have abstained for Halloween-themed programming, but it didn't hurt them. "CSI" helped the network beat FOX's coverage of Game 2 of the World Series in average viewers throughout the night.

CBS averaged 13.5 million viewers and a 8.2 rating/13 share, coming out just ahead of FOX, with averaged 12 million and a 7.3/12.
