TV Ratings: CBS wins the night with NCAA basketball

NCAA.jpgCBS handily took the top spot on Saturday night (Mar. 31) with a night of NCAA basketball. The network averaged almost 15 million viewers with a 5.0 rating and a 15 share among 18-49 year olds. Their closest rival was ABC with 3 million and 0.9/3. Not even close.

In the first hour of prime time, NCAA basketball nabbed almost 15.3 million viewers, a 5.0 rating and a 15 share, beating out a repeat of ABC's "Shark Tank" which took in 2.7 million, 0.8/4,  FOX's "Cops" with 3.4 million, 1.1/4 and NBC's "Escape Routes" which got 1.1 million and 0.2/1.

In the nine o'clock hour, basketball got 14.4 million viewer, 4.9 rating in the 18-49 demo and a 15 share. ABC's "My Extreme Affliction" got 2.8 million and 0.8/3. FOX's "Bones" repeat grabbed 2.6 million and 0.8/2. NBC's "The Firm" had 2 million viewers with a 0.3 and a 1 share.

In the final hour, CBS won again with the NCAA with almost 15 million viewers and 4.9/15. NBC's "Law and Order: SVU" repeat got 3.4 million and 0.7/2. ABC's second hour of "My Extreme Addiction" got 3.6 million and 0.1/3.
