The Sunday night Colts-Redskins game on "Sunday Night Football" gave NBC a win over CBS' lineup, as there was no NFL football to bleed over into "60 Minutes" this week. FOX had a strong week, fueled by the end of the afternoon NFL games and the second game of the Phillies-Giants NLCS.

NBC's football pre-game show and game broadcast earned an average of 14.3 million viewers with a 8.8 rating/14 share in households. CBS took second with 11.9 million viewers, 7.2/12 and FOX was close behind with 9.8 million viewers, 6.1/10. ABC brought up the rear with 9.3 million viewers and a 5.8/9.

In the 18-49 demo, football was again the winner. NBC had a 5.4 for first, followed by FOX (3.3), CBS (3.0) and ABC (2.6).
