TV Ratings: Country Music no match for 'Big Brother' and 'America's Got Talent'

cma-taylor-swift-mine.pngFast National ratings for Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010

It appears that even when all the biggest country music stars align, they're still no match for the "Big Brother 12" house or the "America's Got Talent" contestants. The Country Music Association's Music Festival, which featured artists like Reba McIntyre and Miranda Lambert, couldn't quite match the numbers of the reality competition shows.

NBC led the night overall with 7.5 million viewers and a 4.7 rating/8 share in households. CBS drew 6.6 million people and a 4.3/7 for second, and ABC bumped FOX out of third place with 6 million viewers and 3.7/6. FOX (4.7 million, 2.9/5) and The CW (1.1 million, 0.8/1) trailed.

CBS and FOX both did well with the target demographic, scoring 2.0 ratings.  NBC received a  second at 1.9, ahead of ABC's 1.7. The CW was at 0.4
