TV ratings: 'Cult' and 'Body of Proof' premiere quietly and CBS dominates another Tuesday
Tuesday night once again belonged to CBS. "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" were down a little from their last original episodes, but they swept their hours in viewers and adults 18-49, as did "Vegas" at 10 o'clock.
Elsewhere, "Cult" got off to a soft start on The CW with its series premiere, and "Body of Proof" was weak for ABC, tying its series low among adults 18-49. NBC's comedies and "Smash" were also in a bad way Tuesday. "New Girl" and the rest of FOX's comedy block was off as well.
CBS averaged 15.65 million viewers and a 9.9 rating/15 share in households for the night, more than doubling the 6.6 million and 4.4/7 for second-place ABC. NBC (3.7 million, 2.4/4) edged FOX (3.5 million, 2.1/3) for third. The CW drew 1.2 million people and a 0.8/1.
CBS also won the adults 18-49 demographic with a 2.6 rating. ABC finished second with a 1.8, just ahead of FOX's 1.7. NBC scored a 1.1 and The CW a 0.4.
