The Season 3 premiere of "Nikita" on The CW bombed even by Friday standards, drawing a meager 951,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demo according to fast national ratings. That's a new series low for an original episode and down sharply from the 1.4 million viewers a rerun of the "Beauty and the Beast" premiere gave CW in the slot last week.

There was better news at ABC, where the surging reality competition "Shark Tank" hit a series high 7 million viewers and took the night's 18-49 demo crown for the sixth consecutive week. At 10 p.m., a "20/20" interview with Victim #1 in the Penn State sex abuse scandal gave ABC a modest victory in the 18-49 demo.

New episodes of "CSI: NY" and "Blue Bloods" on CBS and "Grimm" on NBC were all down slightly from last week, possibly due to stronger competition on FOX from major league baseball.

CBS averaged 8.4 million viewers and a 5.6 rating/10 share in households, FOX jumped up to second with 6.4 million viewers and a 3.9/7, followed by ABC at 5.8 million and a 3.8/7. NBC was fourth with 4.2 million and a 2.8/5 and the CW trailed with 1.2 million and a 0.8/1.

ABC and FOX tied for the night's adults 18-49 demo lead with 1.7. NBC and CBS tied for the second spot with a 1.1, while the CW earned a 0.5 (which was actually even with last week, despite the underperforming "Nikita").
