ABC led Monday's ratings as usual, but a post- "Dancing With the Stars" airing of "Cougar Town" didn't do a whole lot for the show's numbers. It lost half of its lead-in's 18-49 audience and more than half of its viewers.

Elsewhere, "Chuck" didn't improve on its lower-than-usual performance of last week, and "How I Met Your Mother" also fell some. The CW's "90210" and "Gossip Girl" returned with slightly better numbers than their last original episodes.

ABC averaged 13.8 million viewers and an 8.9 rating/14 share in households for the night, beating second-place CBS (8.5 million, 5.4/8) by a pretty wide margin. FOX (7.5 million, 4.6/7) came in third. NBC (4.3 million, 2.8/4) was fourth, while The CW scored 1.6 million viewers and a 1.1/2.

ABC led the adults 18-49 demographic as well, albeit with a lower-than-usual 2.9 rating. FOX took second in the demo with a 2.5, beating out CBS' 2.3. NBC only managed a 1.1, but that was good enough to beat The CW's 0.8.
