TV ratings: 'Dancing With the Stars,' UConn share Monday title
An aesthetically unpleasant final NCAA tournament game drove its ratings down compared to last year, but UConn's victory over Butler still gave CBS a demographic win Monday night. "Dancing With the Stars" remained at the top of the overall ratings, slipping a little from its first two weeks but still drawing better than 21 million viewers.
ABC ended up leading the night overall with 18.15 million viewers and an 11.4 rating/17 share in households. CBS (14.4 million, 8.6/13) came in second; its numbers will change some in the final nationals because of the live telecast. There was a steep drop from there to third-place NBC (4.6 million), which finished a little ahead of FOX (4.15 million, 2.6/4). The CW's reruns drew just 771,000 people and a 0.5/1.
CBS led the adults 18-49 demo with a 5.0 rating, a point better than ABC's 4.0. None of the other networks was really a factor: FOX took third with a 1.3, followed by NBC, 1.1, and The CW, 0.3.
