TV Ratings: 'Fringe' finale rises while CBS heavy hitters slide

fringe-season-finale-worlds-apart-joshua-jackson-fox.jpg "Fringe" has been picked up for a fifth and final season, so the ratings are of little consequence to fans at this point -- but you'll still be glad to hear that Friday night's Season 4 finale ratings were slightly better than the week before. Even "The Finder," which was canceled by FOX this week, saw a small ratings boost. (Perhaps because by now, everyone's already seen "The Avengers"?)

Per usual, "Undercover Boss," "Blue Bloods" and "CSI: NY" helped CBS secure yet another win on Friday, though all three shows were slightly down from last week.

CBS won the night with an average of 8.4 million viewers with 5.5 ratings/10 share in households. It easily beat second place ABC, (4.9 million 3.3/6) and third place NBC (3.6 million, 3.1/6). Finally, FOX trailed at 3.6 million viewers (2.3/4) with The CW in last place with 1.5 million (1.0/2).

In the 18-49 demographic, ABC won the night (1.5) followed by CBS (1.2). NBC and FOX tied with a 1.1 while The CW trailed with 0.5.
