TV ratings: 'Glee' gets a boost from 'American Idol' as FOX wins Thursday
"American Idol's" Thursday telecast was off a little from its first hour last week, but it dominated its hour (thanks in part to CBS being in repeats). It also helped "Glee" score some of its best overnight ratings of the season as FOX scored a win for the night.
For ABC, "Grey's Anatomy" was up a tick over last week and led its hour in adults 18-49. NBC's "30 Rock" also improved a little, while "Beauty and the Beast" had its best outing in more than two months.
FOX averaged 11.2 million viewers and a 6.4 rating/10 share in households to lead the night. CBS (9.3 million, 5.9/9) came in second, a good distance ahead of ABC (6.7 million, 4.4/7). NBC was fourth with 3.8 million viewers and a 2.4/4. The CW (2.3 million, 1.4/2) trailed.
FOX also topped the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.9 rating. ABC and CBS tied for second at 2.0. NBC (1.3) finished fourth, while The CW posted a 1.0.
