TV ratings: 'Gossip Girl' goes out on a high note, '1600 Penn' preview so-so MondayAdd to Favorites | Gossip Girl
The series finale of "Gossip Girl" scored the show's biggest audience of the season -- although that only translates to about a million and a half viewers. Still, the finale and the hour-long clip show that preceded it gave The CW its best Monday performance in 15 months.
Elsewhere Monday, "The Voice" was up over last week and was the night's top show in viewers and adults 18-49. A preview of NBC's new comedy "1600 Penn," though, lost close to half its lead-in and posted only mediocre numbers. An hour-long "How I Met Your Mother" was up for CBS, which won the network race for the evening.
CBS averaged 9.8 million viewers and a 6.1 rating/9 share in households in primetime, beating out NBC's 9.3 million and 5.6/9. ABC (4.8 million, 3.1/5) finished third. FOX took fourth with 3.3 million viewers and a 1.8/3, while The CW (1.4 million, 0.9/1) trailed.
CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.1. NBC posted a 2.9 as the shows following "The Voice" dropped sharply. FOX came in third at 1.2, followed by ABC, 1.1, and The CW, 0.7.
