TV Ratings: NCAA Sweet Sixteen propels CBS to win

The NCAA tournament helped CBS to a win Friday night, as it averaged just over 8 million viewers. NBC's new "Who Do You Think You Are?" and "Dateline" had the peacock in a close second. "Fringe," coming on the heels of a renewal for next season, was up slightly.

CBS had 8 million viewers and a 5.0 rating/9 share in households to lead Friday, followed by NBC at 7.6 million, 5.0/9, ABC at 4.8 million, 3.1/6, FOX at 3.98 million, 2.4/4 and the CW at 1.3 million, 0.8/1.

IN the adults 18-49 demo, the NCAA tourney also reigned supreme for CBS (2.7), followed by NBC (1.6), FOX (1.5), ABC (1.3) and the CW (0.5).
