TV ratings: 'NCIS' reruns rule, 'New Girl' takes 18-49 demo

With no "American Idol" to run the show, reruns of "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" ruled Tuesday night, winning the most viewers for the 8 and 9 o'clock hours on CBS.

Elsewhere, "Cougar Town" held steady, and "New Girl" brought in 6 million viewers for FOX in its time slot, as well as the top spot for viewers age 18-49. Katy Perry's episode of "Raising Hope" grabbed 4.8 million viewers.

CBS won for total viewers, drawing 11.5 million people and a 7.5 rating/12 share in households. NBC was a distant second (4.9 million, 3.1/5), with ABC coming in third (4.6 million, 3.1/5), FOX in fourth (4.5 million, 2.7/4) and The CW fifth (1.3 million, 0.9/1).

FOX came out on top in the 18-49 demographic with a 2.1 rating for the night, beating out CBS (1.9), NBC (1.6), ABC (1.3) and The CW (0.6).
