The baseball playoff hiatus was not kind to "Glee," "New Girl" and "Raising Hope," which all returned to lower-than-usual numbers Tuesday after three weeks off. CBS led the night across the board, while NBC improved a little over last week and ABC was up a tick in viewers.

CBS scored 15.4 million viewers and a 9.7 rating/14 share in households for the night, beating second-place ABC (11 million, 7.3/11) by more than 4 million viewers. FOX (7 million, 4.2/6) came in third. NBC finished fourth with just over 6 million viewers and a 3.8/6, and The CW trailed with 1.65 million viewers and a 1.1/2.

CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.2 rating, edging FOX's 3.0. ABC and NBC tied for third at 2.3. The CW posted a 0.7.
