TV ratings: Olympics close with more big numbers for NBC
The final night of the 2012 Olympics gave NBC one last night of huge ratings, closing out the London games with an audience of close to 27 million people.
Elsewhere Sunday, ABC's reality lineup ticked up a little opposite the closing ceremony. "Big Brother," on the other hand, fell a bit for CBS.
NBC averaged 26.9 million viewers and a 15.1 rating/26 share in households for the night, once again blowing away the other broadcast networks. CBS took the top non-Olympic spot with 4.7 million viewers and a 3.1/5. ABC (3.5 million, 2.2/4) came in third, and FOX (2.8 million, 1.6/3) trailed with an all-rerun lineup.
The Peacock earned a 7.8 rating among adults 18-49 for its Olympic finale. FOX took second in the demographic with a 1.3, edging CBS' 1.2. ABC posted a 0.9.
