NBC's "Sunday Night Football" telecast dominated the night's ratings, per usual, even though the game -- a blowout win for the New York Giants over the Green Bay Packers -- was never much in doubt.

FOX also got a boost from afternoon games running into primetime, with "The Simpsons" scoring a big improvement over last week. The rest of FOX's animation lineup posted gains too. At ABC, "Once Upon a Time" was up, but "Revenge" fell compared to its most recent original.

NBC averaged 15.3 million viewers and a 9.3 rating/14 share in households for the night. Its numbers, along with those of FOX and to a lesser extent CBS, will change some in the final nationals with adjustments for live sports. CBS (10.5 million, 6.7/10) finished second, while FOX took third with 9.2 million viewers and a 5.5/8. ABC (6.5 million, 4.0/6) trailed.

NBC also led the 18-49 demographic with a 5.5 rating, finishing well ahead of FOX's 3.7. CBS, 2.1, edged ABC, 2.0, for third.
