TV ratings: People's Choice Awards up but 'Modern Family' is Wednesday's top showAdd to Favorites | Modern Family
The People's Choice Awards broadcast was up a little bit over last year, and it helped CBS score a win in total viewers Wednesday night. ABC also had a decent night, as all of its shows, led by "Modern Family," improved on their last original episode.
Elsewhere, FOX's special "Stars in Danger: The High Dive" belly-flopped, shedding about a million viewers from its first hour to its second. NBC's "Law & Order: SVU," meanwhile, scored a season high in viewers.
CBS drew just over 9 million viewers and a 5.8 rating/9 share in households in primetime, beating ABC's 7.6 million and 4.8/8. NBC (6.8 million, 4.4/7) came in third. FOX (3.4 million, 2.1/3) was fourth, and The CW (1.4 million, 0.9/1) trailed.
The top two networks switched places in the adults 18-49 demographic, with ABC's 2.6 topping CBS' 2.4 for the lead. NBC came in third with a 1.9, followed by FOX, 1.3, and The CW, 0.4.
