"So You Think You Can Dance" scored Wednesday night's biggest audience, improving on its premiere last week and leading FOX to a victory in primetime.

Elsewhere, the opening of hockey's Stanley Cup Finals on NBC was down a good amount from last year's Game 1. CBS got decent viewer numbers from its new show "Dogs in the City," but its demographic numbers were nothing to bark about, and the season finale of "America's Next Top Model" was up slightly.

FOX averaged 7 million viewers and a 4.3 rating/7 share in households for the night, beating out CBS' 6.55 million viewers and 4.4/7. ABC (3.6 million, 2.4/4) came in third. NBC grabbed fourth with 2.7 million viewers and a 1.7/3 (which may change some because of the live sports coverage), and The CW (1.15 million, 0.8/1) trailed.

FOX had a wider lead in the adults 18-49 demo -- its 2.6 rating was double that of second-place CBS (1.3). ABC finished third with a 1.2, followed by NBC, 1.0, and The CW, 0.5.
