TV ratings: State of the Union not much of a draw Tuesday
The president's State of the Union address Tuesday night didn't draw as big a crowd as last year's speech, as all four broadcast networks that carried it brought in smaller audiences.
The rest of the night was almost all reruns, with the lone exception being "The Taste" on ABC. It was down from last week.
CBS led the night with 6.9 million viewers and a 4.5 rating/7 share in households. NBC (5.3 million, 3.4/5) took second, beating out ABC (4.4 million, 2.9/4). FOX averaged 2.35 million viewers and a 1.5/2, and The CW (1.5 million, 1.0/2) trailed.
NBC led the adults 18-49 demographic, albeit with just a 1.4 rating. ABC was right behind at 1.3, followed by CBS, 1.2; FOX, 0.9; and The CW, 0.5.
