TV ratings: Super Bowl XLVII likely to set another record [Updated: Or not]Add to Favorites | Elementary
Fast National ratings for Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013
CBS' coverage of Super Bowl XLVII is likely to set another ratings record -- discounting the 34-minute power outage that interrupted the second half of the game.
The metered-market ratings for the game, 48.1/71, are the best ever, up a tick from last year's 47.8/71. The fast national ratings -- which aren't super-accurate for live broadcasts -- are also ahead of Super Bowl XLVI, even with the power outage.
The blackout pushed the post-Super Bowl broadcast of "Elementary" out of primetime. More detailed ratings will be available later in the day, but it scored a 12.0/24 in metered markets, its best showing ever.
In the fast nationals, CBS averaged 95.9 million viewers and a 41.7 rating/62 share in households. ABC was the best of the other three networks with just over 2 million viewers and a 1.3/2. NBC (1.8 million, 1.2/2) beat out FOX (1.5 million, 0.8/1) for third.
CBS scored a 35.3 rating among adults 18-49, up significantly from the 32.0 last year's Super Bowl scored in the fast nationals. FOX (0.6) beat out ABC (0.5) and NBC (0.4).
